The brain is divided into two hemispheres. In most cases, the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, and the left side of the body controls the right side of the brain.
The left side of the brain is known for:
• Perceiving where things are located in space
• Understanding the position of the body
• Remembering what we do and see
• Assembling information to understand the full picture
• Controlling the left side of the body
Damage to the right side of the brain can result in difficulty cognitive issues such as having difficulty remembering and assembling facts, as well as emotional and physical problems. Right brain damage generally results in problems on the left side of the body.
