Located at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Younker Rehabilitation Center provides rehabilitative care for patients with both brain injury and spinal cord injury.

The Brain Injury Program is specialized depending upon the individual patient and his or her needs, while the main goal of the Spinal Cord Program is to ensure that those enrolled gain the skills necessary to return to an independent and productive life.

Many of the specialists at Younker Rehabilitation Center hold advanced degrees, and more than half of their nursing staff has advanced certification in rehabilitation.

Younker Rehabilitation Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Part of the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare System, the Iowa Spine and Brain Institute has an inpatient rehabilitation unit focused on returning patients to independence, both physically and mentally. Individual treatment plans are developed by the staff at the Institute, many of which access affiliated Covenant Medical Center and Sports Injury and Wellness Center.
